  33. The only version of Kermit we recommend and support for Windows, including
  34. Windows NT, is MS-DOS Kermit 3.14.  Even though it is a DOS program, it
  35. runs fine in Windows and works better than most Windows-specific
  36. communications software programs.  Although it lacks the pleasant
  37. graphical user interface that so many people want, it still gets the job
  38. done.  And since when using communications software, you are usually in
  39. text mode anyway (in a terminal emulation window), the GUI aspects are not
  40. as important as in other types of applications.

  42. The other problem with MS-DOS Kermit in Windows is that it can not coexist
  43. with nor use Winsock when making TCP/IP connections.  We are sensitive to
  44. this issue and hope to do something about it as soon as we can.
